Bobby "BOB" Hamby

Bobby (Bob) Ray Hamby, Sr, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 19, 2024. He was born July 26, 1946, in Plumerville, AR. He was raised by his mother Edith Lilly (Burroughs) and his stepfather Clarence Lilly in Arkansas until he enlisted in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam. 

After Vietnam, Bob traveled and worked various jobs until he landed in the Fort Collins area. Bob met his wife, Audrey Hamby, at the local cafe where she was a waitress. They were later married on horseback and spent the last 40 years together. Together, they raised three children (Christopher Ray Hamby, Bobby Ray Hamby,Jr., and Andrea Marie Bower (Hamby)). His children gave him many grandchildren whom Bob adored (Daniel Caron, Kayce Hamby, Blane Hamby, Cody Hamby, Scott Hamby, Brayden Shramek, Josephine Bower, and Elianne Bower).

Bob spent most of his life as a truck driver and was a member of the Teamsters. When he wasn't behind a semi steering wheel, he was at the local cafe visiting with friends, in the garage tinkering, fishing, or in the mountains elk hunting.  

Bob's colorful personality and great stories will be greatly missed.  

Bob was preceded in death by his mother (Edith Lilly) stepfather (Clarence Lilly), brother (Lloyd Hamby), and a grandchild (Blane Hamby).
