Warren died peacefully at the age of 95 the morning of November 6 surrounded by his family. He was born June 22, 1929 to Marjorie and Warren Ulrich at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
He attended Ainsworth Grade School, Benson High School and graduated from Oregon State College, now Oregon State University in 1951 from the School of Engineering. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.
After graduation, he served as an officer in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. Following his military service, he was employed at the family business, Pacific Machinery and Tool Steel Co., as Product Application Metallurgist, General Manager, President, and finally Chairman of the Board. His goal was to see his Grandfather's company reach 100 years in 2012.
He was Past Chairman of the Oregon Chapter, American Society of Metals, Past President of the Oregon Chapter of the Steel Service Center Institute and past member of its National Board of Directors. He was a member of Waverley Country Club, Multnomah Athletic Club and The Arlington Club.
His activities and hobbies included wood-working, boating in the San Juans, golf, skiing, and traveling the world with his beloved wife Elinor (Ellie) of 71 years, whom he met while attending flight school at Columbus AFB, Mississippi. There were many trips to Maui, Sunriver and Cannon Beach. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved grandchildren and played a large role in their lives.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, their two children, Warren J. Ulrich Ill (Lisa) and Kathleen Allcock (Charlie), 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his three siblings, Susan Rick, Jocelyn (Mimi) Davis, and John Martin Ulrich.
