James “Jim ” E. Tiedeman Jr. passed away on October 29th, 2024. He was 66 years old.
Jim was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 19th, 1958 to his parents James and Virginia Tiedeman Sr. He was their eldest son.
He attended school in the Grabill IN area until he was a senior in high school when he moved to New Mexico with his dad. Jim received his GED when he was in his 30s, passing the test on his first try.
He moved to Loveland CO in the late 1970s and began a 35 year career with Sonoco Products. He started out as a machine operator and worked his way up to the shipping/receiving manager position. He worked there until they closed the plant down. He worked for Nitrocrete until he was layed off due to Covid. He took early retirement and took to it like a duck to water.
He met his future wife in 1993 when his dad set him up. He had no idea that there would be anything going on but bowling. In 1996, he was married by Judge R.J. Nelson in his chambers to Greta (Melberg) Klosterman. There was only close family in attendance. Their wedding reception was held at their house that evening. They spent the next 28 years making Loveland their home in their 1896 house.
Jim rooted for the Pittsburgh Steelers for 60 years, he enjoyed going to auctions and estate sales and finding treasures, he loved reading Clive Cussler's Fargo series, bowling, snowmobiling in Wyoming, fishing, working on his 1985 Trans Am, but was probably happiest when camping, gold panning or hunting in the mountains he so loved. He was always willing to help out a friend or a neighbor with a project. He was a man of many talents and was willing to share his knowledge with others. He was a man of integrity and never wavered when it came to doing the right thing. He would have been surprised by how many people he touched as he was a quiet man.
He is survived by his wife, Greta; brothers: Tim and wife, Debbie of Fremont, IN; Mark of Loveland, CO; Ken and wife, Kristina of Maple Grove MN; half sisters: Lisa Peterson and husband, Shane of Bozeman, MT; and Jennifer Crain of Georgia. Plus nieces and nephews and great nieces and a great nephew.
Jim was preceeded in death by his parents, James and Virginia; and a half brother, John Crain.
Jim's wish was to be cremated and put on the mountains he so loved. There will be no services for Jim at this time. Next late spring/summer part of his ashes will be released on the mountains he loved with family and friends welcome to come.
