Aspen Mortuaries - Lakewood
Therese Claire Rodgers
November 4th, 1967 - June 6th, 2020
Therese Claire Rodgers November 4, 1967 †" June 6, 2020 Therese Rodgers, 52 years young, of Lakewood, Colorado passed away peacefully due to natural causes on Saturday June 6th, 2020. Born to Claire (nÁ©e Kenny) and Charles Rodgers of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Therese was a loving and loyal sister to Colleen (nÁ©e Rodgers) and Richard Gilbert, Charles (Chuck) Rodgers and Michael and Nancy (nÁ©e Ezzo) Rodgers. A devoted and loyal aunt, she took great pride and carried the title of †œMost Fun Aunt of All Time† quite well. Therese is survived by her nephew Matthew Gilbert (Richard and Colleen), niece Laura Weiss (nee Gilbert, Richard and Colleen) and Jonathan Weiss, Christopher Rodgers (Chuck Rodgers), Daniel (Chuck Rodgers) and Beth (nÁ©e Haas) Rodgers, Michael Rodgers (Michael and Nancy) and Michelle Rodgers (nÁ©e Giovannoni), Joey Rodgers (Michael and Nancy) and Justin Rodgers (Michael and Nancy). She will be greatly missed by her 5 great-nephews (and 1 on the way!) and a great-niece who she adored, spoiled, and loved with all her heart. Additionally, she is survived by her son, Walter Thomas Wood, 33, of Colorado. Her most fulfilling role was †œDog Mom† to sweet, energetic and spunky Izzy and her always supportive furry companion, Brian. She will rest peacefully knowing the loves of her life have found a new home together, just around the corner; they will be kept with all their familiar and favorite parks and hiking trails. Therese was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA where her family resides and her allegiance reigns for her favorite football team, The Philadelphia Eagles. She was a die-hard Philly sports fan. Her spirit for the game and the city she loves will never be forgotten. Therese loved the great outdoors and all Mother Nature had to offer. She was a camping/hiking/kayaking/skiing/live music enthusiast and loved to gather with family and friends at any time to enjoy and fulfill her life and theirs. Therese worked in the restaurant industry for over 30 years and thoroughly enjoyed working at Rioja in Denver, Colorado. Her warm smile and bright spirit will greatly be missed by her entire Colorado family, Rioja family, loyal customers, and colleagues. Above all, Therese had an indescribable energy and passion for gatherings. She had an incredible talent to gather, host, serve, and tend to honored guests. She had a deep-rooted belief that togetherness, laughter, eating and merriment could cure all problems and create world peace. Her life's passion will be greatly missed by her family and closest friends. In lieu of traditional life celebrations that would typically commemorate the passing of a dear loved one, the family would ask that you celebrate her life by honoring yourself and your loved ones by sharing an experience you know she would have enjoyed in her memory. †œCelebrate we will, because life is short but sweet for certain....†-Dave Matthews Band
