Joseph Bowen was born on January 28, 1945 in Oklahoma City, OK and died surrounded by loved ones at the age of 79 on December 19, 2024 in Albuquerque, NM.

Always ready for a celebration, to lend a hand, or to cook up a hearty meal, Joe could find common ground with just about anyone he encountered. An avid reader, he held an appreciation for the human spirit and an immense love of the land. Whether engaged in geothermal operations in southeast Asia or an array of community matters in his home of Jemez Springs, NM, Joe was fueled by a good laugh and sought out by many for his insight and steady presence. Joe will be deeply missed by his family and friends across the globe. 

Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Margaret, and son Sam. He is survived by brother John (Shirley) Bowen, sister Margaret (John) Oldberg, friend and mother to his children, JoAnn Albrecht, daughter Rachel (Brook Amburgey) and beloved grandsons.

 A Celebration of Life will be held at Madonna Hall at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Jemez Springs at 1pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
