It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Eufemia (Femia) Nuñez of Denver, Colorado, on December 28, 2024. Femia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters.
Femia was born in Brush, Colorado, on March 20, 1931, to Santos Cabrera and Maria Ortega. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence (Larry) Nuñez, two sisters (Catherine Cabrera and Frances DeHerrera), and three brothers (Trinidad Cabrera, Marshall Cabrera and Augustine Cabrera). She is survived by her two daughters, Laura (George) Gallegos, Yolanda (Charles) Davis, and two granddaughters, Olivia Gallegos and Veronica (Johnathan) Reish.
Known as a strong and courageous woman, her family is blessed to have had her presence for 93 years. Femia was never a person who relaxed or rested, she disliked watching television and occupied herself with her love of cooking and gardening. The perseverance, determination, and faith she possessed attributed to her long and healthy life. She will always be remembered for these qualities. She loved her family and friends very much and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Aspen Mortuary, 6370 Union Street, Arvada, Colorado. A reception will be held immediately after Femia’s Celebration of Life.
