Gerald L. (Jerry) Murphy, 73, of Mission Viejo, CA and formerly of Binghamton, NY peacefully entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Providence Mission Medical Center, Mission Viejo, CA.
He was born in Binghamton to the late Edward and Joan Murphy and was a 1967 graduate of Catholic Central High School. He was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He graduated from Saddleback CC and Cal State Fullerton. Jerry pursued a long, successful career in Corporate Accounting (Rockwell, Hydro Conduit) as well as within several Broome County, NY departments.
He is survived by a daughter Jennifer Comnos and two grandsons Matthew and Riley, all from Mission Viejo, CA, a brother Bob (Lynn), sisters Mary Bentlage, Betty (Tom) Hilson, Patty Dellacorino, and several nieces and nephews and their families. He will be dearly missed.
Jerry’s family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Providence Mission Hospital for their loving and compassionate care. A Memorial service will be held at a future date. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
