Mrs. Norma "Sue" Garner, 84, passed through the gates of Heaven on February 8, 2025. Born in Concord, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Brown) Furr and wife to Ronnie Garner.
She was a very strong woman of faith and was an active member of Life Community Church. She loved participating in the Ladies Christmas Banquet, the Senior Life Group, and was the greeter for many church events. In addition to her being involved with her church family, she was involved in the Special Needs Prom Committee. She loved being around people and never knew a stranger spending time participating in the Senior Center events, where she even learned to play the ukelele. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed painting too. She was also an avid reader in her spare time. Laughter was so important to her. Norma had such a great sense of humor and would light up her families lives with her costumes, pranks and with her contagious laugh. Her family was of the utmost importance to her, and she relished every chance she could spending time with her husband, whether that be fishing, going to the beach or just a scenic drive.
Norma is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Garner; her children, Rhonda Dilks (Michael), Beverly Gray Rogers (Mark), and Eric Lambe; her stepchildren, Tracie, Rhonda (Todd), and Christy (Todd); her four grandchildren, Shane, Ken, Georgia, and Courtney (Jared); her step-granddaughter,Marisa; her ten great-grandchildren; her adopted daughter, Stephanie; and her adopted granddaughter, Persia, along with many other special friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Euarl, Bois, Kenneth; her sister, Katherine; and her son-in-law, Eddie Gray.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral and Cremations Services - Lambeth Chapel, 300 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro NC on Wednesday, February 12th, 2025 at 10:00AM with Pastor Ryan Robertson officiating. Interment will be at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro, NC at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Beacon Place Hospice at Authoracare Collective in Greensboro, NC.
