 September 5, 1934 - March 2, 2025

Genevieve Elizabeth Tartaglia (nee Lloyd) known to friends and family as Jeanie Lloyd or Jeanie Tar, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025 at the age of 90.  Born on September 5, 1934 to Genevieve Lloyd (nee Olsen) and William Benjamin Lloyd, Jeanie's life was dedicated to her family, especially to her late son James (Jimmy) Tartaglia.  She lived most of her life in South Philadelphia. 

Family and friends were the heart of Jeanie's life.  She was the wife of the late Anthony "Tar" Tartaglia with whom she had a wonderful life.  She loved watching classic movies, listening to music, playing cards, bingo and going to the casinos.  She was a dedicated homemaker and loved being with her South Philly girlfriends.  But the biggest joy and most important part of her life was raising her son, Jimmy. 

Jeanie loved children. She would smile from ear to ear whenever children were near, and loved seeing pictures of the children of family and friends

her late brother, William Lloyd (Joann), and sister, Geri Garofalo (Gary), will always remember her generous nature and especially her ornery personality. 

She will always be generous Aunt Jean to her niece Dawn Cooper (Glenn), nephew Tom Cramer (Barbara), her late niece Corinne Lloyd, and nieces Gina Lloyd and Genna Garofalo.  

She was great-aunt to the late Kyle Cooper, Sean Cooper, (Samantha), Tommy Cramer and great-great aunt to Carson Kyle Cooper.  

Although we are saying goodbye, we take comfort knowing she will be in our cherished memories and in our hearts.  

        “We will never forget her.”   

Farewell Tribute

 Viewing for family and friends will be Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 9:00AM - 11:00AM at the McGuinness Funeral Home- (Washington Township Location), 573 Egg Harbor Rd. Sewell. NJ 08080.  Funeral Service at 11:00AM.  Followed by an entombment at Fernwood Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA.
