Deanna Ruth Drews
August 31st, 1937 - May 8th, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deanna Ruth Drews, who left us on May 8, 2025, at the age of 87 in Tucson, Az. A long-time resident of Tucson, Deanna was born on August 31, 1937, at Midway Hospital in St. Paul, Mn. The daughter of Arthur Budd and Marjorie Golden, Deanna was raised on the family farm in Bruno, Mn. and was a 1955 graduate of Askov High School.
On September 10, 1960, Deanna married Gustaf Drews in Roseville, Mn. Their beloved son Jeffery Drews predeceased her in 2017. Their loving daughter, Cynthia Zezuto, with whom she made her home in recent years, survives in Tucson along with husband, David.
Deanna enjoyed a long career in the classified department at Tucson Newspapers Inc. She dedicated many hours and enjoyed a wide circle of friends before her retirement in 2005. She was an avid reader of the Arizona Daily Star up until her death.
Deanna was affectionately known as Denno to her grandchildren. Surviving are granddaughters, Andrea Hartnett of Tucson, Drew Hartnett of Tucson and Claire Zezuto of Redondo Beach, Ca. She is survived by grandson, Charles Zezuto of Tucson and great granddaughter, Hestia Taylor, of Tucson. She leaves behind her sister, Annette Chuhel of Stillwater, Mn. and brother Robert Budd of St. Petersburg, Fl. Many nieces, nephews and cousins are left to mourn her as well.
A memorial service for Deanna will take place at Adair Funeral Home, 1050 N. Dodge Blvd., Tucson, Az. on June 1, 2025, from 1pm to 4pm. A private burial ceremony will follow at Marana Mortuary Cemetery.
