In Loving Memory. Celebrating a Life Well Lived

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary O'Ray (McLaughlin) a resident of Phoenix, Arizona and former resident of Denver, Colorado and Forest Mills, Ontario. Mary passed away after a brief illness on May 19th, 2025 in her 95th year. Mary was a beloved wife to Patrick (Deceased) for 58 years. Loving Mother of Mary "Joy" (Rod) Uens of Belleville, Ontario, Patrick (Angel) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Colleen of Phoenix, Arizona and Shawn of Phoenix, Arizona. Beloved Grandmother to Tara, Sean, Erin, Elizabeth, Sterling and Braedon as well as ten Great-Grandchildren. Dear sister of Margaret "Peggy" (Don) Mckee and Irene Beckta (Stan) and predeceased by Adele (Fred) Russell and William (Shirley) Mclaughlin. Sister-in-law to Diane McGuiness (Laverne) and predeceased by Marion (Gerald) Brennan, Jack (Yvonne) O'Ray, Ted (Marg) O'Ray, Geraldine (Eugene) Menna, Irene (Frank) Kraick and Kenneth (Florence) O'Ray. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Born on October 9th, 1930 in Toronto, Canada, Mary grew up, married and began to raise a family while working in Toronto. In 1961 she embarked on a journey that would move her from the Great Lakes to the Sonoran Desert to the arid climes of West Texas and the Mexican border to a mile high city shadowed by the Rocky Mountains and ultimately settled in the Valley of the Sun. Mary shared that journey with the love of her life, raised four children and built a successful business along the way. She was a wife, a homemaker, a mother, a businesswoman and an inspiration to those who knew her. Her passion for reading and learning never lessened as she grew older. She traveled extensively and summered for nearly 4 decades at her farm in Eastern Ontario, often surrounded by family and friends. She brough immense joy to those who knew and loved her and will be forever missed.

A service will be held on Saturday July 12th at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Read, Ontario at 1:00 PM. A celebration of Mary's life will follow at the home of Randy (Natasha) Uens, 56 Ridley St., Rossmore (just over Bay Bridge) Ontario. Family and friends will gather to share stories, reminisce and pay tribute to a woman who truly made the world a better place.

Mary will forever be cherished in our minds and hearts. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
