Patrick Hatcher, 61, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and interesting stories (some true, some not so much). A man whose presence filled every room and whose heart extended far beyond his immediate circle, Pat will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Pat is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Hatcher, his beloved children, P.J. Hatcher, Alisa Henderson (Scott Henderson), his grandsons, Jaxon and Carter Henderson, sister Kerrie Hulbut, brother Jim Hatcher, numerous nieces and nephews, and stepmother Michelle Hatcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and James Hatcher, his brother James M. Hurlbut (Susie) and his sister Nancy Dunlap.
Pat was born on St. Patrick’s day, 1964 in Mount Holly, New Jersey. A proud veteran, Pat honorably served his country in the United States Army. Following his service, he was a longtime mechanic, then became a valued and respected employee at Knight’s Companies.
Pat was also a proud and active member of the Lowcountry Wranglers Club, where he found adventure, camaraderie, and countless friendships. Whether sharing a good story, convincing someone to eat yellow snow, working on a vehicle, heading to the woods, rescuing an animal, or searching for a great flea market find, Pat’s enthusiasm for life and people never wavered. Above all else, he loved his family dearly.
He held a deep pride in his community and was known for his mentorship, loyalty, and his rare ability to make everyone feel like a lifelong friend. Pat never met a stranger—only friends he hadn’t yet made. He was the kind of man his friends knew they could count on for help with anything.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we celebrate the rich and meaningful life Pat lived and the countless lives he touched along the way. A celebration of life will be held at a later time to commemorate the life and legacy they way Pat would want. In the meanwhile, the family asks that you raise a glass, listen to some classic rock, and live life to the fullest.
