Kevin Gene Oswald
58 years old
June 19, 2025
Kevin Gene Oswald, 58, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 19, 2025, after battling pancreatic cancer. Born in Aberdeen, Maryland, Kevin was a beloved son, husband, father, and friend, whose life was defined by his devotion to his family, work, and faith.
Kevin was born to Jerilyn and Clifford Oswald on June 30, 1966, in Aberdeen, Maryland. He spent the majority of his childhood in Bismarck, North Dakota, and attended NDSU for college. Kevin married the love of his life, Cheri Oswald (Watterud), on June 7, 1991. They moved to Reno, Nevada, where their daughter Emilee was born. They also lived a significant portion of their married life in Colorado, where Christina was born.
Kevin’s legacy will live on through his loving wife, Cheri; daughters Emilee [fiancé Michael] and Christina [fiancé Brandon]; nephew Chris; sister Tana; and father Clifford [Helen], as well as extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jerilyn Oswald (Fode); uncle Darrel Fode; and grandparents Pearl and Clifford Oswald Sr., and Emanuel and Eva Fode.
A dedicated professional, Kevin spent 28 years working in the lumber business, where he not only poured his heart into his job but also built lasting relationships with his colleagues, whom he considered his second family. His passion for construction and building extended beyond his career; he was always creating and had a project to do around his yard or home.
A man of faith, Kevin was a devoted Christian who lived his life with generosity, integrity, fairness, and empathy. His compassion for others, combined with his quiet strength, made him a true example of living one’s values. Outside of work, Kevin’s life was full of the simple joys he loved: baseball/softball, sunflower seeds, his Ford F-150, and family road trips. He found peace and happiness in the little things, and his smile, work ethic, and enthusiasm for life were contagious to all who knew him.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on July 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Citi Pointe Church in Loveland, Colorado, where family and friends will gather to honor a life well-lived and a man who will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
