Alma Martin McBrayer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, in Warner Robins, Georgia. Alma will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband in a ceremony at Andersonville National Cemetery at a later date.

Born on February 19, 1935, in Portersville, California, Alma lived a life filled with kindness and generosity, leaving a poignant legacy for her family and community. Throughout her life, Alma invested her time in activities that brought her joy. She was an enthusiastic bridge player and took pride in her involvement with the Girl Scouts of America, fostering growth and camaraderie among the young girls she guided. Her compassionate spirit and considerate nature endeared her to all who knew her.

Alma dedicated herself as a loving homemaker, embracing the joys and challenges of raising her family. She is survived by her daughters: Debbie Van Allen, Debra (John) Finklea, and Janet (Greg) Spivey, and son-in-law, Ray Burke. Her warmth was reflected in the hearts of her 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Alma was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lilly Martin, her devoted husband, Leman V. McBrayer, her cherished children, Myra Burke and Lilly Johnson, and nieces, Amy Greer Horne and Heather Johnson.

As we remember Alma, let us carry forward her example of love, generosity, and strength. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered. Her legacy of kindness will resonate through the lives she touched, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
