Warren Collins Iverson, 82, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Ontario, Oregon, surrounded by the love of his family.

Warren was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 12, 1943, to Warren Peck and Della Mae Collins. At nine years old, his mother married LeGrand (Oz) Iverson, whom Warren embraced as his father. His family grew instantly, forming lifelong bonds with his brothers and sisters. Pick-up baseball games quickly became the reason to be gone all day long, riding bikes around the city with his brothers. Warren graduated from Murray High School in 1961. He worked many jobs, including operating a crane alongside his dad and brothers. Warren proudly served in the Army National Guard for six years, an experience that helped shape the values he carried out throughout his life.

On October 28, 1966, Warren married VeLynne Sampson, the love of his life. He proposed to her at the stock car races—a testament to his unique sense of humor and adventurous spirit. Their loving marriage marked the beginning of a cherished family that became his greatest joy. In April 1971, Warren and VeLynne were blessed with their oldest daughter, Shauna, whom they referred to as their miracle child (and favorite). Seven years later, in June 1978, to their surprise, they were once again blessed with another daughter, Karlee, whom they referred to as their miracle baby (also their favorite). Warren and VeLynne built their lives in Utah before moving to Oregon in 1981. Warren and his family settled in Ontario, where he became a well-known business owner and salesman.

Although Warren and VeLynne were employed full time, they always found time to go and celebrate with the grandchildren. From baseball and football to softball and volleyball, they became quite the fans of their young progeny. Even when the kids wanted to come over and hot tub, Warren always greeted them with a smile. Warren retired in February 2011, excited about the upcoming winters he would spend with VeLynne in Lake Havasu, Arizona. After 46 years of marriage, VeLynne passed away in February 2013, leaving a sadness within the entire family.

Warren was admired in the community for his generosity and his incredible ability to make anyone laugh with his sarcasm and orneriness. His warm-hearted nature left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Warren had a remarkable knack for carpentry, creating beautiful projects with his skilled hands. He was happiest surrounded by family and friends, whether cooking a meal, tending his garden, sharing a laugh, listening to his favorite tunes, sneaking away for a round of golf, or a bit of gambling.

Over the years, Warren became a world-class traveler. His yearly trips to Lake Havasu with his sister Sharron, Tom, and many special friends was something he looked forward to. Bumming around Palm Springs with Denny and Shirley always provided some good stories when Warren got home. He also took trips to Mexico with Anne and family. Warren's best friend in the world, Lonnie (Bert), along with his wife Michelle, ensured that Warren got to travel to exciting places like Wildhorse, the Oregon Coast, Phoenix, and Lake Tahoe. And if boredom ever struck, he could always head down to Jackpot with David, Angela, and Anne. The bond between Warren, his daughters and sons-in-law, and their families grew to be unbreakable as well. From dinners, sports, and just being together, Warren admired the family that his daughter, Shauna, had created and fostered. When Warren moved in with his daughter Karlee, he got to be surrounded by constant attention, a detail Warren often derided in his unique way.

Warren was preceded in death by his beloved wife, VeLynne. He is survived by his daughters, Shauna (Victor) Martarano and Karlee (Andy) Barber; 8 grandchildren: Jarica (Adrian), Joey (Ambrea), Jaydin (Nick), Jacey, Kyra, Kannon, Kolson, and Kyndal. He is also survived by his 4 Great grandchildren: Zylar, Zaylee, JJ, and Blakely. He is survived by his siblings: Kraig Iverson, Mike (Beverly) Iverson, Steve (LaRane) Iverson, Sharron Error, Dennis (Shirley) Iverson, Randy Iverson, and Jen (Todd) Johnson, all of whom will continue to honor his memory through laughter, storytelling, and love.

While Warren’s body deteriorated, his perspective of the world and happy-go-lucky attitude persisted. How else could he grow to become a theater and soccer junkie with the Barber’s watching his grandchildren play and perform? Or develop a love for family time with the Martarano’s while staying in his trailer in the Idaho mountains of Donnelly, Idaho? Or talk to Denny or Bert on the phone like no time had ever passed, and the distance between them was just an illusion? Warren’s spirit will live on in the lives of his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and in the many friends and family members who treasure his generous and kind heart. He will be remembered with smiles, laughter, and love—forever missed but never forgotten.
