Leroy J. Flood was born on August 17, 1940, in Savannah, Georgia, to Maggie Flood and Leroy Jackson.

 

A hardworking man, Leroy served as a custodian engineer for the New York City Board of Education, where he took pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.

 

In 1990, Leroy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lehman College, a testament to his lifelong commitment to learning.

 

In 1972, he married Shirley Boone. Their union was one of deep commitment, lasting until Shirley’s death in 2019.

 

In 2015, Leroy joined Shirley in worshipping Jehovah God.

 

Leroy is survived by his beloved sister, Mildred, his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many long-time friends and acquaintances who will remember him for his quiet strength and steady presence.

 

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
