Charles Edward Modock Jr was born on June 21, 1946, in Chicago Illinois, the late Minnie Chesnut and Chrales Modock Sr. He was the beloved younger brother of Patricia (Modock) McCarter, whom he adored dearly. Patricia, along with their parents and niece Wanda McCarter, preceded him in death.

Charles was a cherished uncle to Wanda McCarter and Leslie McCarter, the daughters of Patricia and her husband, Willie McCarter.

Charles was raised in Chicago where he attended John C. Haines grammar school before enrolling at Dunbar High School, graduating in the class of 1964. Shortly after, he answered the call to serve his country, proudly joining the United States Army and serving honorably during the Vietnam War. He also attended Kennedy King college and finished at Northeastern with his bachelor's degree in education.

After returning home, in 1970, Charles began a long dedicated career with the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), where he worked for 20 years. Upon retiring in 1998, he relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where he enjoyed the next chapter of his life.

Charles had a passion for cooking, especially for his loved ones-- often bringing people together around the table with his delicious meals. He was also an avid sports fan, cheering for his favorite teams and enjoying spirited conversations about the game.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 50years, Margaret Modock, his four children; Jeffrey Chavers (Carolyn), Monique Chavers, Pleshette Modock and Quentin Modock, his loving niece; Leslie McCarter and a plethora of family and friends. He loved his family deeply.

Charles E. Modock Jr. will be remembered for his dedication, quiet strength, and the love he gave freely to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
