Thomas Alan Ammeter
Thomas Alan Ammeter – 83 of Greensboro, North Carolina passed away on July 31, 2025.
Tom was born on August 8, 1943, in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Paul Eugene and Katherine Horning Ammeter.
Tom served in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He enjoyed golfing, exercising, biking, and he was especially committed to the SE Business Foundation and SE Business Association in which he oversaw many improvements to the southeast area. Projects such as the Realty Store a semi-annual project for students at high school. He worked at The Gap and retired after 25 years of service.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dot Ammeter; the loves of his life, son Andrew and daughter Susan; sister, Lynn (Jim) Loch; brother, Keith (Kim) Ammeter; nephew, Brady (Sara) Loch and their three sons; and several in-laws and nieces and nephews by marriage.
Tom will be missed by his family and many friends.
Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 12th at 11:00AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 2210 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC. Final placement will be in Salisbury National Cemetery at a later time where US Army honors will be rendered.
Family has requested donations in memory of Tom to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
