Timothy J. Gibbons

Timothy J. Gibbons, 69, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Hospital following a short health battle. Services for family and close friends will be held on August 9, 2025. 

Tim was born in St. Johns, Arizona on June 5, 1956. Tim’s ancestors were called to settle the St. Johns area, and Tim was the product of their hard work and tenacity in settling that hard desert area. Soon after graduating from high school, he met and soon after married Rolane Goff. After their first son Scott was born, they moved to the Nampa/Caldwell area, which Tim called home the rest of his life. Four more sons and one daughter were born in Nampa. Tim was a proud and loving father and always worked hard to provide for them. 

After the dissolution of his first marriage, Tim married Cathy Lyn Rimington in 2005, and they were happily married until the time of his death. Her three daughters–Misty, Victoria, and Kimberly–were a light in his life, and he enjoyed spending time with them and their children. 

Faith and family were Tim’s highest priorities. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he loved to read and learn about the history and doctrine of his faith. His family’s heritage as early members of the Church of Jesus Christ near the time of its founding in 1830 greatly influenced him and he was proud of their examples and tried to live up to that standard. At the time of Tim’s passing, he had 24 grandchildren, and he loved seeing and interacting with them. 

Tim was preceded in death by his son, Travis. He is survived by his wife Cathy; his children Scott Gibbons (Julie), David Gibbons (Cheri), Shea Gibbons (Erin), Chad Gibbons (Sara), Ashley Tuttle (Jeff) and their mother, Rolane Gibbons; and his siblings Toni Haws (Kim), Nikki Romney (Howard), and Mike Gibbons (Marilyn). He is also survived by his stepdaughters Misty Roberts (Dani), Victoria Lyn, and Kimberly Cox (Richard), and his 24 grandchildren.
