Dion Zarelli

Dion Joseph Zarelli, of Tacoma, WA, passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 61. Born and raised in Tacoma, Dion was a one-of-a-kind soul sharp, witty, and deeply passionate about history. He had a mind like a library and a sense of humor that could catch you off guard in the best way. Whether it was sharing obscure historical facts or making you laugh at the most unexpected moment, Dion had a way of leaving an impression. He loved his cats like family, never missed a good football game, and was a loyal Seahawks fan through every high and heartbreak. Sundays were sacred especially when the Hawks were playing. Dion was also known for his legendary spaghetti sauce a recipe so good, it should’ve been patented. He never wrote it down, but everyone who tasted it knew it came from a place of love. He is survived by his daughters, Nikita Zarelli (Tyler Skaggs) and Natalia Zarelli (Ryan Zimmerman); his granddaughters, Alana Webb and Kennedy Zimmerman; and his mother, Robyn Ingram-Bishop. He was a loving father, proud grandfather, and beloved son.   Dion will be deeply missed by all who knew him and fondly remembered for his intellect, humor, love of history, devotion to his cats, football Sundays, and that unforgettable spaghetti sauce.
