Sharon Dill Williams May 28, 1941 – July 31, 2025

Sharon D. Williams, age 84, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away Thursday morning, July 31, 2025. She was born May 28, 1941, in International Falls, Minnesota, a daughter of the late John Fred and Daisy Dill. She was the beloved wife of Joseph Mercer Williams for 66 years.

Sharon was preceded in death by her sisters Pauline Policari and Elizabeth Dill, her brother Harold Dill, and her daughter-in-law Lee Ann Williams.

She was a resident of the Hover Senior Living Community in Longmont, having lived both in the Hover Place Condominiums and the Hover Park Community.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband Joseph Williams, her son Glenn Williams and granddaughter Joy Ann of Palm City, Fl, her daughter Cheryl (Paul) Watkins of Bristol, Tennessee, her daughter Ashley Wolf and her daughter Darlene Williams of Longmont, Colorado, and her brother-in-law Joseph (Erica) Policari of Saint George, Utah. Sharon has many other family and friends who will sadly miss her. She is also survived by grandpets James, Pepper, Whiskey, Zeus, Lilly, Misha, and Meatloaf.

Sharon graduated from Evanston Township High School in Illinois where she later worked in the billing department at Wieboldt Department Store and the Standard Rate and Data Publishing Company. Sharon and Joe lived in Hopkinsville, Kentucky for 15 years where Sharon enjoyed working for the WKOA radio station, volunteered as a Brownie leader, and managed a garden with over 300 strawberry plants. During the 16 years in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Sharon worked for the Sears Roebuck Company and the occupational health center and volunteered sewing for the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre and the Fort Wayne Ballet. In Florida, Joe and Sharon loved living in North Redington Beach, on a lake in Lakeland, and in Sun City, where they hosted many grand dinner parties. Sharon during this time worked as a CNA for Hospice and later for the United States Postal Service.

With an adventurous spirit, Joe and Sharon travelled west to Saint George, Utah where she worked for The Spectrum Newspaper. In Utah, Sharon was an active member of the Saint George Leagues Photography Society. Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and the Grand Canyon were some of her favorite geographical areas to photograph. When Joe and Sharon moved to Colorado in 2016, Sharon favorited Crested Butte as her happy place.

Spectacular perennial gardens graced her yards everywhere she lived. Rose bushes were one of her most cherished. Sharon also loved to collect nature’s treasures: shells on the beach, leaves in the fall, and flowers in the spring. She was known for her hand-crafted nature-inspired greeting cards which she generously shared. She was an avid reader of Guideposts.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, 20 August 2025 at Longs Peak United Church, 1421 Elmhurst Drive Longmont, Colorado. The service will include a slide show of Sharon’s photography. Lunch will be served following the service.

The family is in gratitude for the care received from TRU Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
