Richard "Dick" Timothy Garcia
July 6th, 1937 - August 4th, 2025
Richard T. (Dick) Garcia of Ocala, Florida passed away on August 4, 2025. He was born on July 6, 1937 in Clarksburg, West Virginia and resided there until his retirement when he relocated to the sunshine state.
Dick is survived and missed by his loving wife of 68 years, Connie; and his children Tim (Debbie), Linda and Craig (Monica). He was predeceased by his parents Tim F. Garcia and Wilma Craig Garcia and his brother, Paul E. Garcia of Clarksburg. He was the older brother to Carl David Garcia (Darlene Martin) of Ocala, Florida. He was also predeceased by his in-laws Milburn Jones and Leah King Jones of Merritt Island, Florida. Dick will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren who live in Illinois, West Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Texas.
A graduate of Bridgeport High School and a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Marshall University, Dick was employed for the majority of his career by Abbott Laboratories in hospital product sales. He also owned and operated G&G Travel Trailer sales in Clarksburg, WV. He could best be described as a true “people person” as he had many friends personally and professionally. One of his favorite locations was Tygart Lake in Grafton, WV where he enjoyed boating and teaching his children to waterski. His love for the water continued throughout his retirement as he and Connie took multiple cruises every year. One of his favorite hobbies in Florida was refurbishing and selling older pontoon boats.
His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that family is our greatest blessing. There are no words that can express how grateful his family is to those who assisted in his care in recent years, especially the owners and staff at M&L Arrowhead Angels Assisted Living.
The family will have a private memorial in Ocala. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider a Tribute Donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
