John Dean Wilson

John Dean Wilson was born on the 16th of October, 1934, in Boone, Iowa, to Robert and Harriet (Tilley) Wilson. On August 8th, 1964, he married the wonderful, strong-willed woman named Joan Evers in Roggen, Colorado.  In his younger days, he rode the rodeo circuit and served in the Korean War from 1954-1956. As time went on, he sold John Deere equipment for 42 years. Which his children Janelle, Johnny, and Janice enjoyed when he brought home John Deere snowmobiles for them to wreak havoc with in Franktown. 

John continued to work up until his passing, a full 90 years of life. He owned John’s Sod Shack for 26 years and was very proud of his company! Owning his business allowed him to enjoy time with his grandkids, Jasmine, Trevor, and Jessica, his favorite pastime. He was able to enjoy all the holidays with them, and even attended all their graduations. 

John was a big Colorado sports fan. He bled orange and blue for the Denver Broncos, and went to many Air Force games because of his love for the Falcons, which he shared with his son-in-law Mike. His love for the Rockies was extended to all of his children and grandchildren, who became big fans of the teams as well.

John was a man who didn’t forget a name or face, took pride in his business, and loved his church. He leaves behind many friends who gave him so much joy and support over the years. His family finds peace in the fact that Heaven gained an angel, but they will miss him deeply.
