The Island Funeral Home & Crematory
Linda Margaret Jackson
March 7th, 1945 - August 9th, 2025
Linda (Tilbury) Jackson, 80, of Bluffton, SC, died on August 9, 2025. She was born in Leicester England to Roland, and Margaret (Wiggins) Tilbury. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Jackson, and her sister Janet Warren. Linda is survived by her son, Dean Morris and his wife Michele (St. Simons Island, GA), and her grandchildren, Tyler and Harper Morris (Atlanta, GA). She is also survived by her brother Stephen Tilbury, (Ibstock, England), and her sister Kathryn (Tilbury) Moseley, (Kibworth England). She was a beloved aunt, sister, and friend. Linda moved to the US in 1975 with her son, where she worked as an Executive Assistant at Aetna Insurance, in Hartford, CT. She was best known for entertaining her friends and her home became a lively hub of warmth and hospitality. Linda was a natural host, making everyone feel welcome and loved. Whether it was a spontaneous dinner or a carefully planned holiday meal, she took great joy in making everyone feel at home. In 1984 Linda moved to Las Vegas Nevada, where she met her husband, Allan Jackson. They married in 1987 and worked together to build a thriving Kennel and Grooming business, named Allandale Labradors. She was also an employee at the IRS’ Las Vegas office until her retirement.
2017 brought more changes as the couple moved back East and settled into the Bluffton area. There they thrived in their new surroundings, and after her husband’s passing, she placed her heart, effort and energy into the Outreach ministry at St. Lukes Methodist church. There she was always organizing activities and events that helped to engage both the church and the community.
Linda was known for her strong and endearing friendships, earmarked by her 75-year friendship with Jean Dillard, who back in the 1950’s where a singing and dancing duet called the “Tilly Sisters”. She was also shared a great friendship with her closest friend Nancy Cosentino. The two were inseparable, were close and committed friends until the end. Linda will be remembered for her colorful life, her penchant for a ‘cup of tea’, and her fondness for cooking and baking. She was full of warmth and generosity and never hesitated to speak her mind. She was cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
