Joseph V. Foy, Jr., 77, of West Deptford, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Legacy

Joe grew up in Trenton, NJ. The passing of his father at a young age formed an unbreakable bond between him, his siblings, and mother.

A proud United States Navy veteran, Joe served his country from 1965 to 1968. Serving on USS Beatty (DD-756).  Following his service in the Navy, he began a long and respected career at DAP in Trenton. Joe worked his way through the ranks and later relocated to Bostik in West Deptford. He worked as a production supervisor until his retirement.J oe was cherished for his laughter, sense of humor and how much he loved his family and friends. He was a tell it like it is kind of guy. His advice would begin with, "it's like this…”

Joe is remembered for his love of Nascar. He attended races at Daytona, FL with family. Christmas spent with family was a favorite time of year for Joe. He also enjoyed watching the Phillies.   Joe loved spending time with his Siberian Husky, Martin. He found comfort in rescuing his huskies, he had several over the years. Joe loved his family and his boys. Sunday mornings were spent eating breakfast together. The family watched the 3 Stooges or as Joe called them, my 3 sons. The love of Joe's life was his beloved wife, Joyce. Their love story began in Trenton. Together, they raised their boys. Joe and Joyce were married 41 years until her passing in 2010.  Joe was heartbroken. He found peace attending mass at St. Hedwig church in Trenton, where Joe served as an usher. He later attended St. Mary's in Gloucester City.

In later years, Sundays were spent at Joe's having brunch with Tommy & Christa; Joe Jr. & Dawn making Joe meals and playing with Martin. Sunday afternoons brought visits with Mike, Nancy and family at the farm.

Joe leaves behind a legacy of love for his family, friends, country and our Lord. His presence and laughter will be deeply missed.

We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
