It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Jo Ann Gord, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, on August 6, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in May 1936, Jo Ann was a woman of grace, quiet strength, and unwavering love. She spent her early years in a close-knit community where she formed lifelong bonds that she cherished deeply. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Charles Gord, with whom she shared a beautiful, fulfilling life until his passing in 2015.

Together, Jo Ann and Charles raised three children, instilling in them the values of kindness, hard work, and compassion. Jo Ann’s legacy lives on through her children: Cheryl Richie, Susan Hansen, and Steven Gord. Her love and devotion as a mother were evident in all she did, and she was always there to support her children through every chapter of their lives. She was a constant source of guidance and comfort to her family.

Jo Ann’s warmth and generosity extended far beyond her family. She formed lasting friendships over the years, offering a listening ear, wise counsel, and a helping hand to those fortunate enough to know her. She had a love for life, a kind heart, and a smile that could light up any room.

Jo Ann was also a proud grandmother and great-grandmother and was deeply involved in the lives of her grandchildren, passing on her love of tradition, cooking, and storytelling. She will be remembered not just for her nurturing spirit, but for her ability to bring joy and warmth to all who were in her presence.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 23rd at 11 am at Brings Broadway Chapel in Tucson, AZ. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched so many lives.

Jo Ann’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on for generations to come.
