Nathan "Nate" Lee Teichert

Nathan "Nate" Lee Teichert, 29, of Caldwell, died suddenly on August 9, 2025. He was born on September 24, 1995 to Travis Teichert and Kerri Janasik, and he grew up in Middleton.

He is survived by his Mother and Father, Kerri Janasik and Travis Teichert (Heather); siblings Kinley Suda (Jared), Maegan Teichert, Nicholas Janasik, and Bradley Teichert; grandmothers Connie Smith, Candi Teichert, and Sharon Melson; and the love of his life, Katie Brown. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nathan graduated from The Atlas School in Middleton in May, 2014. Afterward, he went to trade school at WyoTech in Laramie, Wyoming, and graduated as a diesel mechanic in March, 2015. He went to work at Ryder in Boise, and after seven years there, he moved to work at FedEx Freight in Meridian, where he was employed until his death.

Nathan loved outdoor adventures; hunting, fishing, and camping. He was always outside doing something, no matter the weather. Alone, or with friends and family, he would explore all Idaho had to offer. If it involved being outdoors, he was there and was definitely in his element.

As a boy, he played soccer, baseball, and even gave football a try. He loved to ride his bicycle around the neighborhood, do tricks and flips on the trampoline, play video games,  and work on projects with his Dad. Nathan was his Mom's pride and joy, and all his siblings agree he was the best big brother anyone could ask for. He was sweet and kind, if a little mischievous at times. Ask anyone, he could be a real practical joker! Nathan loved his family and friends fiercely, and was always the life of the party.

Later in life, he enjoyed working on mechanical things, helped with sprint boat races, loved to ride mini-bikes and race four-wheelers, long-boards, and go four-wheeling in trucks big and small. He floated rivers, waterskied on lakes, and fished everywhere. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed the hunting as much as the meat. He would grill anything and everyone remembers his tasty jalapeno poppers.

Nathan always loved animals, especially dogs. It began with a small black kitten he smuggled home and convinced his Dad and Heather to keep. Next, he had a chiweenie. Maybe he grew tired of the smaller sized animals, because as he got older, the dogs kept getting bigger. His last dog was a Saint Bernard, Chevelle. Just like any proud papa, he wore her fur and slobber like badges of honor.

Nathan had a heart of gold. Whenever a friend needed help, Nathan was there. He was Katie's knight in shining armor, protector, and adventure partner. To his Mom, he was her sweet baby boy, and he was his Dad's little man. Although he had several nicknames: Nate, Little Man, Babe, and Nater-Tater (which he hated, by the way), he was always our Nathan. Generous, loveable, helpful, positive, and just plain remarkable.

Many stories could be shared about Nate, but a curious phenomenon was that when he had been drinking, he would always lose a single shoe. Only ever one shoe. This earned him the moniker, "One-Shoe Nate". This held true even to the day he died. In fact, at the private family viewing, he had only one shoe.

Nathan was a beloved son, partner, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. Although he will be deeply missed, he will never be far from our thoughts. In honor of one of his all-time favorite movies, Disney Pixar's CARS, until we meet again… KACHOW!

Nathan's memorial will be held for the public on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Flahiff Funeral Chapel (624 Cleveland Blvd, Caldwell, ID 83605), from 11AM-1PM. A private family inurnment will follow at Middleton Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life, Benefit Auction and Dart Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at The Airport Lounge (3111 Garrity Blvd, Nampa, ID 83687). All proceeds from this event will help with costs associated with Nathan's death.
