John G. Prater
February 6th, 1935 - August 11th, 2025
John G. Pater, aged 90, passed away peacefully on Monday August 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a beloved husband to Roseanne Prater, devoted father to James, Scott (Michelle) and Robin (Ron), cherished grandfather to Jessica (Frank), Jerome, Rhiannon, Cassidy, Lexi, Bella, and Seraphina, and loving great-grandfather to Kaius, Holden, Imogen, and River.
He was a dedicated union teamster for the Philadelphia Inquirer and was a proud member of the South Philadelphia String Band.
He most enjoyed playing his guitar for his children and grandchildren. He will most be remembered for taking his family around the country and teaching them everything and anything.
Family and friends are invited to attend John’s visitation at St. Simon Stock Roman Catholic Church located on 178 W. Whitehorse Pike, Berlin, NJ on Friday August 22, 2025 from 9:30am to 10:45 am. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am with interment to be held at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery located in Arneytown, NJ at 1:30 pm.
