Dixie Jorgensen
February 8th, 1932 - July 29th, 2025
Dixie C. Jorgensen (née Clark)February 8, 1932 – July 29, 2025
Dixie C. Jorgensen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the age of 93.
Born on February 8, 1932, in Montezuma, Kansas, Dixie was the daughter of James R. Clark and Audrey Clark. She grew up in a loving family alongside her siblings Bill Walker, Jane Osborn, and Jim Clark, all of whom preceded her in death.
Her lifelong love story with Juils DeLynn Jorgensen began in the 8th grade, when he picked her up for their first date and she rode on the handlebars of his bike—a sweet beginning to a marriage that would span nearly 70 years. They were married on May 18, 1952, and shared a lifetime of devotion until Juils’ passing in 2021.
While Juils served in the U.S. Navy, Dixie worked as a clerk, supporting him with unwavering dedication. In 1956, they settled in Greeley, Colorado, where they built a life rooted in family and community. As Juils coached football and baseball at Greeley West High School, Dixie became the embodiment of a coach’s wife—steadfast, supportive, and ever-present. Her loyalty extended beyond the sidelines, as she became a passionate supporter of Greeley West athletics, cheering on her son Jim, and later all four of her grandchildren, through countless games and seasons.
Even in her later years, when she could no longer attend games in person, Dixie remained deeply engaged. She eagerly awaited updates from her son Jim, who followed in his father’s footsteps as a coach at Greeley West, and offered her signature motherly wisdom through victories and defeats alike.
Dixie had many friends at Generations Church and always looked forward to her breakfast after church with her group of friends. She loved the staff at Generations and loved hearing the weekly messages from Tim, Daniel, and Eric.
Dixie is survived by her children, Jim Jorgensen (Fara Bolin-Jorgensen) and Jana Jorgensen; grandchildren Drew Jorgensen, Dane Jorgensen, Peyton Tellez, and Cassie Tellez; great-grandchildren Bradley, Colton, and Kyle Jorgensen; and 10 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juils; her parents, James R. and Audrey Clark; and her siblings Bill Walker, Jane Osborn, and Jim Clark.
A special thank you is extended to Ruby Storm, a treasured friend and caregiver, and to Fara Bolin-Jorgensen, Dixie’s daughter-in-law, whose love and care in Dixie’s final years brought comfort and companionship.
The family would also like to thank Pathways Hospice and Care Center for their amazing support and care for Dixie in her final days. The staff’s compassion during Dixie’s journey from this world to God’s loving arms was so comforting for her and her family and friends that gathered.
A Life Celebration will be held on Tuesday, August 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Generations Church in Greeley, Colorado. Following the service, a joint burial of ashes for Dixie and Juils will take place at Fort Logan Military Cemetery in Denver at 2:30 p.m. the same day.
Dixie’s legacy is one of enduring love, quiet strength, and unwavering support. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the family and community she so dearly cherished.
