                                                            Pamela Bunting Lewis

Pamela Bunting Lewis passed away in Mesa, Arizona on August 6, 2025. Born on July 15, 1952, she was 73 years old.

Originally from Newark, Delaware, Pam was the adopted daughter of the late Rev. Dr. John Bunting and Margaret Kelechava (who remarried Newark High School’s beloved art teacher, Eugene Kelechava).

Pam earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Delaware and was a popular elementary school teacher in the Avon Grove School District of Pennsylvania, Fairfax County, Virginia, and the Gifted and Talented Program in Montclair, New Jersey. She was also passionate about the arts, acted in community theater, and founded her own creative writing company called Creative Ink.

With her former husband, an investigative journalist, she resided for many years in Washington, D.C., and the surrounding suburbs, where she devoted her time to motherhood and homemaking. Pam also lived in Newark and Dewey Beach, Delaware, Montclair, New Jersey, Greenwich, Connecticut, Boston and Salem, Massachusetts, Las Vegas, Nevada, and the greater Phoenix area of Arizona.

A private memorial gathering will be held by surviving family members and friends at a later date.
