Jo Ann Hatcher

Beloved friend and sister, Jo Ann Hatcher, passed away on July 27, 2025, in Olympia,Washington, after a battle against Stage-4 Leukemia.

Born on November 13, 1947, to her parents Earl Hampton Hatcher and Frances Ann Amos Hatcher in the city of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Jo would grow up in Colorado Springs and attend Wasson High School. She would then graduate in the year of 1964and move to Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by San Francisco, California. Finally, she would arrive in Ferndale, Washington in the year 1979. Later she would attend Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, which she graduated from in 2003.Over the years Jo would learn skills in a few different fields starting with Plastics Molding, then moving to working in the insurance industry, and then transitioning to the Healthcare Industry.

Family and friends will remember Jo for her persistence, kindness, and her sense of humor. She always knew what to say to put a smile on your face and lift your spirit. Jo loved cats and lived with many during her lifetime. She was also a great cook, and it always brought her incredibly joy to be able to share the meals she created with the people she loved. To relax, she enjoyed watching baseball games or sitting down with a good book. She was an avid reader and a true master of any kind of word games she participated in.

Jo Ann Hatcher is survived by her brothers David Hatcher, Stephen Hatcher and his wife Brenda, and her sisters Sue Beamer and Linda Hatcher. She is preceded in death by her parents Earl Hampton Hatcher and Frances Ann Amos Hatcher. Her family has requested all memorial donations be made to Feline-Friends located at6515 Sexton Dr NW, Olympia, WA 98502.

Though she has departed from this world, those who she loved will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
