Maurice "Mouse" L. Moya

Maurice passed away in his home on August 4, 2025. Born and raised in Albuquerque, he is survived by his loving wife Viola, his siblings Margarette, Joe (Sonny), James (Dale) his sons Marcus, Christopher, Matthew, and Diego along with nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  The Rosery service will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 307 Stover Ave SW on August 23, 2025 at 10:30am, followed by church services at 11:00am.

Maurice graduated from St. Mary’s High School and upon graduation left to serve in the Marine Corps. He then joined the Albuquerque Police Department where he found his joy with the Motor Unit. After he retired from APD, he became a Private Crash Reconstructionist and then a Private Investigator. Maurice dedicated his life to others, always believing in justice and saved many people’s lives.

Even though he was dedicated to his work, he always made sure to spend time with his loved ones. Whether it was taking them on vacation, meeting them for breakfast, or even just answering the phone. He was always there for major milestones in his family’s lives. Maurice and Viola hosted many holiday family get-togethers where family across the states would come visit. To his family, the house was always a home.  Even though he is not physically here, his spirit will continue to grace those he impacted.
