Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory
Barbara Causey
February 6th, 1958 - August 15th, 2025
It is with a sad heart, playful smile and fond memories that we announce the passing of Barbara Causey, who graced our lives from February 6, 1958, until her grand exit on August 15, 2025. A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. We invite all who knew and loved Barbara to come share laughs, stories, and maybe even a few fantastical adventures as we celebrate a life that was vibrant, witty, and oh-so-remarkable.
Born in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, Barbara spent her time on Earth much like a character from her beloved fantasy tales—full of curiosity, kindness, and that delightful wit that will be greatly missed. As a dedicated Respiratory Therapist, Barbara’s caring heart and nurturing spirit made a significant impact on the lives of those she tended to. Whether she was providing a breath of fresh air to her patients or lending an ear to her friends, Barbara approached life the way she approached her interests: with passion and enthusiasm. From the galaxies of Star Trek to the epic realms of Lord of the Rings, she drew inspiration from fantastical stories and brought them into her reality. She even proudly named her home—Dead Foot Holler—a cheeky nod to a family joke that encapsulated her playful spirit and her love for The Walking Dead.
Barbara was the proud mother of two wonderful children, Anna (Phillip) Jolin and Jason (Joanna) Crickenberger, who will carry on her legacy of warmth and curiosity. She was also a cherished grandmother to two bright stars, Sabrina and Zane Jolin, who loved her dearly. She leaves behind her beloved siblings, Jimmy (Dawn) Causey, and Beth Causey, as well as her faithful four-legged companion, Sally Mae. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sara Causey, and her brother, Don Causey—who I'm sure is up there, enjoying a good laugh with her.
Barbara's zest for life included the thrill of "junking" for antiques, which meant her home was always filled with stories and treasures, much like herself. She loved to dig in the garden, nurturing both her plants and the love surrounding her.
Let’s remember to live boldly, laugh heartily, and never stop exploring the magical world around us. You will be missed, but your spirit will continue to inspire—and let’s be honest, you'll forever be bugging us from the great beyond to "boldly go" where no one has gone before!
