Dorothy “Dot” Mary Thomas, 88, Colorado Springs, CO, passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2025, at home surrounded by her family.
Dorothy was born July 4th, 1937 in Colorado to Candido and Ruth Medrano. She was the third born of eight sisters.
Dorothy married Francis Thomas on July 16th, 1960 and together they had two children, Candace Lee and Frank Walter.
Dorothy worked in dietary at the local hospitals, working her way up to Assistant Director of Dietary and retiring from Penrose, St. Francis and Memorial Hospitals, finally enjoying retirement in 2001 after losing her beloved husband.
Dorothy loved her family first and foremost. Being one of eight sisters, family was everything. Okay, almost everything. She also loved shopping and her trips to Cripple Creek. She never ever felt any pain in Cripple Creek.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Candido and Ruth; husband, Francis; sisters, Evelyn Revello and Gloria Boyer; sister-in-law Eme Sanchez
She is survived by her children, Candy Dreiling, Frank (Jenny) Thomas; sisters, Irene Medrano, Linda Rafter, Dora Milner, Donna (John) Romero, Arlene (Duane) Richmeier; 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
