In Loving Memory of

Victoria Marie Thomas (nee Castoro) was born on August 19, 1933 to Libia Castoro (nee D’Andrea) and Charles Castoro in Englewood, NJ, and passed peacefully on August 7, 2025 at the age of 91, Merritt Island, Florida.

 

Victoria is survived by her children, son, David Thomas, daughter, Patricia Caputo, son Steven Thomas and daughter in law Debbi Thomas, son, Brian Thomas, son, Vincent Thomas and daughter in law Myrna Thomas, daughter in law Kerri Thomas, grandchildren, Vincent Caputo Phillip Caputo, Victoria and Craig DeVincenzo, Charles Caputo, Alexandra Thomas, Charlene and Wesley Colson, Samantha and Nick DiAmico, Steven and Madison Thomas, Brandon Thomas, 10 great grandchildren, sisters, Jerri Facciolla and Shirley Amntmann, special mother to Marie Savage, Annette and Joe Baudanza, special grandmother to Lori and Rob Obdyke, Joseph and Angela Baudanza, Vincent and Corrinda Baudanza, Cathy and Bob Dunne, Stephen Savage and their families, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

 

Victoria is predeceased by her husband, Edisel F. Thomas, son Charles G. Thomas, son in law Phillip J. Caputo, and sister Beatrice Boyle.

Victoria and Edisel were married on February 13, 1954 in Ridgefield, NJ and relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where they raised their family. Victoria worked for F.W. Woolworth Co. as a bookkeeper and was a member of the Barnett Chapter No. 293 of the Eastern Star. In 1970, the family relocated to Closter, NJ. Victoria continued her working career with F.W. Woolworth Co. in Englewood, NJ and then was employed as the office manager for Saks Fifth Avenue in Hackensack, NJ and White Plains, NY.

 

After retiring from the retail industry at the age of 62, Victoria volunteered at the Closter Public Library and subsequently became a member of the staff retiring at the age of 87.

 

Victoria enjoyed her family, music, (her favorite artist Frank Sinatra), Classic movies, (her favorite actor Clark Gable), dancing, traveling, shopping (especially for shoes), Hiram’s Hotdogs, Rockland Bakery, the Dollar Store and Christmas was her favorite Holiday.

 

Victoria was loving and generous and affectionately known as “Grams”, “Grandma Vicki”, “Gigi”, “The Gigmaster”, and “Grandma” by all.

A Graveside Service presided by Father Joe of St. Mary’s Church, Closter, NJ, will be offered on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 1:00 pm at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery, 234 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Closter Public Library would be greatly appreciated.
