Bobby (Bob) Merle Penner, 84, went to join his heavenly father on August 17, 2025. Bob was born on January 8, 1941 to John & Margaret Penner in Madrid, Nebraska. The family moved to Idaho in 1946 and settled in Middleton, Idaho. He attended school in Middleton and graduated from Middleton High School in 1960. Bob met Janet Spencer in 1967, they married in 1968 and welcomed three kids Robert, Danial & Christina. They separated in the fall of 1971 when Christina was just eight months old. Bob had full legal custody of his three young children and was grateful for a large family that helped him raise his three kids. Bob married Carol Howard (Cooper) on May 23, 1981. Carol had two adult children, David & Susan. Bob worked as a general contractor for many years in Canyon County to include building many houses as well as working with his brother Eldean building the iconic Chateau building at Ste. Chapelle Winery in 1975 in Caldwell. He enjoyed camping and fishing and had memorable trips sturgeon and halibut fishing in Oregon. He retired from building houses in 2005, in retirement he enjoyed watching TV to include Boise State Bronco & Seattle Seahawks football.Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol, his oldest son Robert, his parents and his older siblings Ardean, Alton, Eldean, Arlyce, Joan, Marlene & Donald, as well as numerous cousins, one niece and two nephews. He leaves behind his younger brother Lendall (Jonelle). He is survived by children Danial (Kelly) Penner; Christi (Travis) Thoroughman; David (Patty) Howard; Susan (Steve) Pemberton, 13 grandkids and 10 great grandchildren.

A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 9:00am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell; his funeral service will begin at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.
