June 23rd, 1949 - August 8th, 2025
Ira L. Bowry, 76 was called home to God on August 8th, 2025, at the Advent Health Hospital, Tampa, Florida after fighting a tough battle to overcome Covid Pneumonia along with his other health challenges, Parkinson's disease and Dementia. Ira was a loving brother, husband, father and had many friends and relatives worldwide. Ira's most cherish position in life was a loving father.
Ira was born in St. Kitts, West Indies and then later on moved to Toronto, Canada. Ira settled in St Croix and is well known for working at Hess and in his later years at the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority.
Ira and his Family relocated to Wesley Chapel, Florida after his retirement from WAPA to afford his daughter the opportunity to pursue better educational opportunities.
Ira you will be missed immensely.
God has not promised sun without rain, joy without sorrow or peace without pain. God Hath promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way, grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy undying love. Ira you were love and will be missed, You have ran your race, you have kept the faith, now Rest in Eternal Peace.
A Celebration of Ira's Life is scheduled on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 12:00pm at Grace Episcopal Church Tampa Palms, 15102 Amberly Drive, Tampa, Florida 33647 with Reverend Shancia Ingram officiating.
