Frederick "Fred" John Rose, Jr.
March 28th, 1954 - August 11th, 2025
Frederick John Rose, Jr., lovingly known as Fred, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born on March 28, 1954, in Jamaica, New York, Fred was the devoted son of the late Frederick John Rose, Sr. and Adele Marie Becker. His life was defined by his unwavering love for family, his boundless generosity, and his quick wit—he had a gift for making people laugh and bringing joy into every room he entered.
Fred is survived by his longtime companion, Deborah Smith, and his children: Frederick John Rose III (Rhonda) of Myrtle Beach, SC; Amy Mack (Fiheem) of Norristown, PA; April Butler (John) of North Port, FL; Joseph Rose Sr. (Leneeta) of Norristown, PA; Mathew Rose (Kristine) of Sarasota, FL; Dustin Rose (Tia) of Hillsboro, OR; Corey Rose of Rotonda West, FL; and TaylorMae Upson of Chesapeake, VA. He also leaves behind his brothers, Steven Rose (Rhonda) of North Port, FL, and Richard Rose (Karen) of Venice, FL.
Fred’s legacy shines brightest through the generations he loved so dearly: 21 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy. He was also survived by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss his presence.
An avid and professional bowler for many years, Fred found great joy in the sport. Bowling was not only a passion of his but also a cherished pastime he shared with his parents and siblings, creating lasting memories that spanned generations. Over the course of his bowling career, Fred’s skill and dedication led him to achieve the remarkable honor of earning four perfect-game 300 rings, a testament to his talent and love for the game.
He will be remembered as a devoted father, a loyal friend, and a man of kindness and humor—someone who could lift spirits with a joke and leave behind a trail of smiles. His love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
A Memorial Service to honor Fred’s life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, with visitation at 1:00 pm followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00 pm at Farley Funeral Home in North Port, Florida. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
