Donald D. Hollenbeck, 86, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born November 11, 1938, to the late Clarence and Gertrude (Holman) Hollenbeck, in Ladysmith, WI.

On August 18, 1962, Don married the love of his life Norma Lyke, at St. John’s Lutheran in Edgerton, WI. Don enlisted in the National Guard and served his country for 8 years. He held numerous jobs until he was able to find his true passion as a Rural Mutual Insurance agent, where he worked for 26 years before his retirement in 2000.

Don was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He and Norma traveled all over the United States in their camper, but they also had the opportunity to travel the world through Don’s dedication to his career. Don loved Disneyland and had taken multiple trips with his children and then also his grandchildren. He also really enjoyed taking a boat out on Lake Michigan, often taking family, friends or even clients.

Don is survived by his loving wife Norma Hollenbeck; children Dean (Paula) Hollenbeck and Donora (Jerry) Aarstad; grandchildren Amanda (Nick), Jessica, and Cassandra (Nick); great-grandchildren Hadden, Rebecca, Gage and Isla and many other family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brothers Bob, Ken and Pug and sisters, Lorraine, Peggy, Rosemary, and Shirley.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 404 Roosevelt St, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM.

Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson

We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations....
