Mr. Frederick Kircher Haskell, age 61, of Tucson, AZ passed away in the morning of Monday, July 21, 2025. He was lovingly cared for through his long battle with cancer by his mother, Ellen Haskell. A Tucson native, Fred was a devoted Christian, an animal lover, and lifelong enthusiast of Dungeons & Dragons, Star Trek and anything Science Fiction. He was a voracious reader, computer lover, and avid movie aficionado. As a child he read the entire set of World Book encyclopedias and could recite facts about any topic. A true John Candy come to life, family and friends called him Uncle Buck because he had a larger-than-life personality and humor. His family and friends loved to hear his funny stories and always left with more knowledge from his visits. Fred was a truly loving Godfather and spent his life helping others. He was a graduate of Green Fields High School, The University of Arizona and earned an MBA with high honors from the University of Phoenix. He really loved managing the finance departments in car dealerships and enjoyed the simple things in life, particularly a delicious meal with loved ones.
Fred is the son of Ellen Haskell and the late William (Bill) Haskell. He was preceded in death by his one and only true love of 21 years of marriage, his wife, Catherine Haskell. Fred is survived by his Aunt and Uncle, Karen Jean and Robert Grimm, sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Raymond Mellenberndt, nieces, Danika, and Kendra, and numerous great nieces and nephews who loved to spend time with him and receive the coolest toys. Fred’s many beloved friends will miss him deeply, especially the close family friend, Elena, who also tended to him in his final months. Donations can be made in Fred’s memory to the Humane Society of Southern Arizona.
