Jack Mills
October 21st, 1938 - August 17th, 2025
Jack Lloyd Mills, 86, of St. James City, FL, passed away on August 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Mills. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa (Dennis) Gettys and Sandy Mills, as well as his loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren who carry forward his legacy.
Jack was a proud Marine and a man of many accomplishments. On July 11, 1953, he won the Flint Soap Box Derby, which took him to the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship, where he was awarded best-constructed car. A 1957 Mandeville High School graduate, he served as quarterback and team captain and was active in student council. He attended General Motors Institute.
In Fenton, Michigan, Jack built and ran small businesses before he and Sharon transitioned their careers to condominium management in Florida. After retirement, they made their home in St. James City, where Jack enjoyed the water, community, and time spent with family and friends.
Jack will be remembered for his strength, perseverance, and amazing sense of humor.
Two memorials will be held—one in Fenton, Michigan and another in St. James City, Florida, details TBD.
