Nannie Rebecca Berry Parker "Betty" 96, formerly of Fayetteville, NC peacefully passed away August 13, 2025 at Trinity Glen Skilled Nursing Facility in Winston-Salem, NC.
Betty was born in Bristol, Tennessee on October 14, 1928 to the late Ollie Berry and Elizabeth Lilly Berry. She was married to the late Marvin Parker, Retired USAF.
Betty lived a full, blessed life; and was the last family member of her generation to gain her wings in Heaven. She enjoyed the beach and mountains, growing roses, and was an avid gardener. She loved canning her vegetables, and cooking. She was a natural caretaker, and gave from the heart unconditionally.
Betty was preceded in death by her grandparents, her parents, her husband, her sister Martha Jane Berry, her "sister cousins" Dorothy Berry Wright (husband J. D.) and Shirlee Berry Dowell (husband Gene) and their daughter Lori Dowell Fleenor, her beloved "Auntie" Pearl Berry and Aunt Jane Ann Lilly, Uncles William Berry, Charles and Roy Lilly.
Betty leaves behind her stepdaughter Sharon Parker Ray, 2 granddaughters, Lauren Parker Wilgress (husband Tyler), Kelly Davison Redhage (husband August), and 2 great grandchildren (a boy and girl) whom she would have been delighted to meet. She is also survived by 2nd and 3rd cousins who always called her "Aunt Betty", and spent as much time around her as possible as children and adults: Rev. John Michael Wright (wife Denise, children Derrick and Brian), David Dowell (wife Sharon, children Sarah and Gracie), Kathie Wright Byrom (children Abigail and Benjamin), Leslee Dowell Slagle (husband David, children Ashlee, Jackson and Harrison), Brandon and Anthony Fleenor (mother Lori Fleenor), Leigh Ann Wright Kattner (husband Mark, child Jenna). During her years at Trinity Glen she had 3 young, frequent special guests: Harvey, Philomena and Rowan; they were the milkshake crew. Not uncommon to see all four of them on Betty's bed drinking their milkshakes, talking and watching cartoons.
The family would like to say a special Thank You to the staff/caregivers at Trinity Glen who loved and cared for "Miss Nannie" during her almost 8 years living there. You are greatly appreciated. The family would also like to express appreciation for words of kindness and prayers offered during this time.
