Deborah Lynn Johnson
February 19th, 1951 - August 18th, 2025
A joy to know and love, Deborah Lynn (Vollmer) Johnson passed away at her home on August 18, surrounded by her devoted family. Debbie came into this world on February 19, 1951, and spent her childhood chasing around three older brothers, Mike, Terry and Kevin, all born to Gus and Lee Vollmer of Buckley. Debbie became a young mother to her daughter, Marcy, and later earned her GED from Green River College. In 1978, Debbie married Doug Johnson. They had a son Jacob (Jake), who completed their family. While living in Buckley, Debbie worked in the service industry and later as a para-educator in the White River and Enumclaw School Districts, where her kindness touched countless students. Debbie’s fun-loving, accepting personality endeared her to everyone. She was proud of completing the breast cancer 3-day walk for her 50th birthday. In her retirement, Debbie enjoyed diamond painting, traveling, volunteering with Results, keeping up with her extended family, and beating her loved ones at Nintendo Switch Golf. Cancer robbed Debbie of future traveling, but never her sense of humor, spicy quips, and the grace with which she handled her illness. She is survived by her husband Doug Johnson; daughter Marcy (McDougall) Boulet (Jeff); son Jake Johnson (Crystal Livingston); grandchildren Austin Johnson-Harding, McKenna Boulet and Olivia Boulet; brothers Terry Vollmer and Kevin Vollmer (Gail); and many beloved family members and friends. Debbie was predeceased by her parents Gus and Lee Vollmer, and brother Mike Vollmer. Debbie’s celebration of life will be Sunday, October 19, at 3 pm at the Buckley Eagles. To honor her passion for social justice, in lieu of flowers, please donate to one of the following organizations: Leaders in Women's Health, Nourish Pierce County, or Planned Parenthood.
