Joseph Garrity
June 20th, 1947 - August 19th, 2025
Joseph T. Garrity, 78, of West Deptford, NJ passed away peacefully on August 19th.
A Woodbury High School Graduate, Joseph stayed local and raised his family in West Deptford.
Thoughtful and caring with a sense of humor, Joseph will be remembered most for his devotion to his family. He was a hard-worker and put his best efforts forward; something that he has instilled in his children. Joseph played a role in raising his step-sons that they will forever be grateful for.
He was an avid outdoorsman, whether fishing, deer hunting or spending time on his boat on the Delaware River. Joseph enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles play and traveling with his wife. While his children were growing up, Joseph even coached the softball team! Later in life, Joseph became a man of faith, religiously reading his bible every day.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph M. and Beatrice (Bailey) Garrity, his sister, Elaine Garrity and his wife, Carol (Gianvito).
Joseph is survived by his devoted children, John Cafasso (Donna), Scott Cafasso (Angela) and Christy Garrity; his cherished sister, Judith Luppenger; and 4 loving grandchildren, John Jr. (Stephanie), Matthew, Nina and Jocelyn. He is also survived by his extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 9:00am until 11:00am at McGuinness Funeral Home, 34 Hunter St. Woodbury, NJ. A Funeral Ceremony will be held at the funeral home at 11:00am, followed by interment at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.

McGuinness Funeral Homes - Woodbury
We have served the Woodbury community since 1951, when our founder, James A. McGuinness, opened our first funeral home. He knew the importance of families having a trustworthy, local funeral home to help them memorialize their lost loved ones and navigate grief. Our beautiful funeral home in Woodbury was originally built in the late 1700s, and has since been rebuilt to honor its original charm and comfortable, warm feel. Once you walk through our doors, you become family....
