Nathan Daniel Simmons
May 23rd, 1977 - August 2nd, 2025
Nathan Simmons was born on May 23, 1977, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Robert and Linda Simmons.
He graduated from Boulder High School and went on to attend Oklahoma State University, where he played football under the leadership of his father, who served as Head Coach. Nathan was a diligent student, earning his baccalaureate degree in just three years.
Nathan’s life was deeply rooted in his faith. From a young age, he gave his heart to the Lord, believing in his heart and confessing with his mouth that Jesus is Lord. He carried his Bible to school, eagerly sharing the Word with his classmates, and later worked with Bill McCartney and Promise Keepers to encourage others in their walk with Christ.
He also had a deep respect for first responders, often expressing that police officers and firefighters deserved far greater pay for their service. If it had been within his power, he would have raised their salaries himself.
A determined and hardworking man, Nathan built and ran a successful business, Tax Impact Resolution, which provided for his family. He also pursued stock market trading with enthusiasm, often saying, “I’m working on momma’s millions.”
Family was Nathan’s greatest joy and motivation. He worked tirelessly to provide for them and often texted his children, so they always knew how much he loved and cared for them. He lived by the scripture, “Honor thy father and mother,” which he modeled throughout his life. He frequently spoke of his love for his brother, Brandon, and his sister, Lelanna, and he truly lived out the command to “love thy neighbor as thyself.”
Nathan leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Robert and Linda Simmons; his three beloved children, Jaenalyn, Nathan, and Kaelene; and Kelly, the mother of his children; his sister, Lelanna Simmons; his brother, Brandon Simmons (wife, Aisha); his nephews, Brandon and Ethan; his niece, Celeste. He is also remembered by his extended family: uncle Neil Davidson (wife Clarice and daughter Catherine); Joshua and Christine Wassink (and their children Evelyn and Eden); uncle Donald Davidson (sons Carleo, Donald Jr., Demetrius, and Darian, and Melissa, mother of Darian’s son); aunt Cynthia Davidson (sons Mikel Graham and Joshua Payne); aunt Pamela Steward; cousin Cherie Davidson; cousin Wanda Parker (her five children and several grandchildren); aunt Betty Moore (son Sean Moore, great-granddaughter Mariko Moore, daughters Shanelle Moore and Roshelle Edwards and their children, sons Milton Moore II, Jour-Don Moore, and Sean Moore); as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
