Carolee Mae (Engstedt) TigheBorn August 22,1941 in Butte Montanato Thelma Boundy Engstedt and Leland Engstedt.Died August 5,2025  of several health issues that came on very quickly.She was surrounded by her family.Carolee was born in Butte Montana on August 22,1941. She graduated high school in 1959. And joined the Army. She served from 1959-1964.In the WAC Women's Army Corp. DIA Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon.Her duty stations were Fort Lawton WA, Arlington Hall. Where she met William(Bill)Tighe, he also served in the Army. They married on August 6,1966.As a family they traveled around several duty stations that Bill was stationed. Virginia,two tours to Germany (Berlin & Augsburg), Maryland, Washington State.Carolee was very active in the Army. Playing volleyball,softball,bowling.She continued the softball after the Army. Playing on co-ed teams in Germany.She loved her baseball. Favorite team is the NY Yankees. Actually was the Brooklyn Dodgers but they moved to LA. So from then on she could not stand the Dodgers.Her love of the game brought her to many stadiums. But never did she get to Yankee stadium. Believe it that she is there now looking from the stands.She enjoyed classic music, Opera, camping, and going to the ocean with family and friends.From 1986-2020 she went back to work as an independent contractor. Working at Fort Lewis commissary for a few years. Then moved over to the McChord commissary. She and her husband were known as the McCormick/Spice stockers.As life went on she really had a passion for bowling. That became a family event. From her husband, daughter, grandkids to great grandkids bowling in leagues.  She was an average bowl but she enjoyed the game and friendship that she made. When she moved to Fort Lewis Washington she got involved in the behind the scenes in the local women association. TWBA, Tacoma women's bowling association. She held several positions to include the last President of TWBA. Before 4 local associates merged into one. Which is now South Sound United Bowling Association SSUSBC. Once again she held several positions to include again President. . She has served on the local bowling  association for a combined of 35+ years. In 2007 she was inducted into the South Sound USBC Hall of Fame.She is survived by her daughter Lara Hacker(Thomas), granddaughter Jessica Tighe, grandson TJ Hacker(Bre), grandson Michael Hacker(Alexis), great grandkids Jordan Copley, Miley Holland, Marissa Shore, Jackson Shore, Iris Hacker, Nova Hacker. Brother in law Eugene  Tighe (Mary), Brother in law Dennis Tighe(Kathy), Sister in law Maureen (Kurt)Several nieces, nephews, cousins.Carolee was predeceased by William (Bill) Tighe husband, Carl Engstedt brother.Funeral arrangementEdwards Memorial Lakewood WA.August 25,20254-8pmServices 530pmReceptionist to followTahoma National CemeteryKent WA130pm
