Herman Weston Jr., 88, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away on August 21, 2025, at home peacefully with his wife by his side. Born in Texas during the Great Depression, Herman was the eldest son of Herman and Evelyn Weston of Alabama. He graduated from Phillips High School, then began his collegiate education at Auburn University and graduated from Antioch College with a Bachelor of Business Administration and obtained his Master’s in Business Administration from University of Dayton.

During high school, Herman met the love of his life, Doris, they fell in love and married, beginning their American dream. They were happily married for 71 years. He enjoyed his career of thirty-three years working in the paper industry, travelling throughout the country with his company and excelling as a sales and marketing business leader.

Herman and Doris moved to Sun City Center in retirement and were very involved in many activities throughout the community. He worked with the Community Security Patrol for twenty-four years along with Doris, participated in Rollins Theatre, and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar for various functions. He was an avid golfer, playing at community golf courses and he especially enjoyed golfing at Club Renaissance, where he made many long-lasting friends.

He was a member of Sun City Center United Methodist Church for thirty years and was thankful to know all the ministers since the church formed and valued serving on many committees. Herman was also involved with the Traditional Choir for twenty-four years until he retired due to his depleting eyesight. Additionally, he loved playing the guitar and singing with the church’s first Contemporary Praise Team.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris, children Leah (Ron) of Colorado and Jealon (Jim) of Florida, grandchildren Tiffany (Nick) and their daughter, Jeanice, Ryan, and Amanda (Griffin) and a loving extended family. Herman’s greatest legacy was his love of family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider research donations to Glaucoma Research Foundation or to the American Heart Association.
