Elizabeth "Betty" "Bebe" Shull

Betty Shull, lovingly known as “Bebe,” of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, surrounded by friends and family. She was 95 years old.

Bebe devoted her life to God, her church, and the Bible. A faithful servant, she sang in the choir for many years and was always an active and joyful part of her church family. Known as a force to be reckoned with and the most popular at gatherings at Legacy of Lexington, Bebe’s strong faith, fun spirit, and loving heart touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Shull; her daughter, Linda Palyok Bray; and her son, Mark Broom Sr.

Bebe is survived by her stepson, Steve Shull, stepdaughter, Doris Ann Brumfield, and son-in-law, John Brumfield; her grandchildren, Shaun Palyok, Travis Palyok, Mark Broom Jr., Elizabeth (Beth Ann) Hernandez, and Will Brumfield; and sixteen great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind many dear friends from her church and from Legacy of Lexington, where her friendships were a source of great comfort and happiness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Broadacres Baptist Church Music Ministry or to the Jubilant Singers at Broadacres.

A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on August 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM.

Her family finds peace in knowing that Bebe’s legacy lives on in the love she shared, the songs she sang, and the faith she lived each day.
