Ralph Smith
March 10th, 1944 - August 13th, 2025
Ralph passed away in his home on August 13th 2025. He was born in Waterloo Iowa on March 10th , 1944 and was preceded in death by his parents Myrle and Esther. sister Lucille, sister Doris, brother Robert, Matthew's partner Kevin and our beloved Michelle. Survived by his wife Marcella, Son Demetrius and wife Norma, Son Matthew, Daughter Melissa, granddaughter Darlene and spouse Manuel, Grandson Timothy and spouse Krista, granddaughter Lori, great-grandson / son Eder and spouse Amiriah, great-grandson Elijah, great-granddaughter Carlene, great-granddaughter Nevaeh, great-grandson Patrick Jr, and great great grandson Ezariah, sister Dorothy, sister Belinda, brother George, brother Richard and lots of Nieces and Nephews,Ralph met his beloved wife Marcella in 1965 at the West theater in grants New Mexico. They married July 15th 1967, but war parted them a month later due to Ralph being drafted to the army. They were again reunited in fort Campbell Kentucky were they had two sons, Demetrious and Matthew. In 1969 Ralph was discharged from the army and then moved back to grants New Mexico where they had their daughter Melissa. Ralph was always dedicated to his work and family, but above all, he was deeply devoted to his faith, of which his life reflected his devotion and was always eager to share his wisdom. Though he faced many health challenges he met them with strength and perseverance, we will always cherish the memories we shared and forever be thankful for our hero, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and teacher.
