Harold “Art” Rogers, a man of profound loyalty and quiet strength, graced this world with his presence from his birth on February 7, 1947, in Temple, Texas, until his peaceful passing on August 23, 2025, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.

A graduate of high school in Le Raysville, Pennsylvania, Art dedicated much of his professional life to service and hard work. He bravely served his country in the United States Air Force at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand from 1967 to 1968, demonstrating unwavering courage during a pivotal time in history. Following his return from Vietnam, he worked for the Water Department for 18 years, where his dedication and reliability served his community with distinction. He then went on to work for the USAF as a civil servant at Warner Robins, Georgia, continuing his commitment to service and excellence.

Though Art held strong opinions and could seem prickly to many, those fortunate enough to earn his care knew a man who would move mountains for them—a fierce protector and generous soul whose love knew no bounds. His infectious spirit, unwavering principles, and deep capacity for devotion will forever echo in the lives he touched.

He was predeceased by his cherished mother, Connie Swain; his biological father, James August Menach; and his beloved son, Todd Ingersoll, whose absence he felt deeply yet carried with enduring grace. In a poignant chapter of his life, Art discovered the identity of his father only later in his years—a man who, though not part of his upbringing, brought a profound sense of gratitude when revealed, allowing Art to connect with and embrace his extended family. Though he never had the chance to meet his father, who had passed before this discovery, Art treasured the newfound bonds that enriched his world and brought him a sense of wholeness.

Art is fondly remembered and survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline Mae Rogers, the love of his life and partner in countless cherished moments; his dear children, Michael Ingersoll and Shelia Gann; his 15 adored grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, each one a source of immense pride and boundless love for him. He also leaves behind his treasured brother-in-law, Gene Rhodes, whom he held in the deepest affection; his lifelong best friend of 72 years, Dick Horton, a testament to unbreakable bonds; and all of his wonderful Waffle House buddies, whose shared stories and laughter over the years filled his days with joy and camaraderie.

Art will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire his family and friends for generations to come.
